Interlake Student Store

The Interlake Student Store has been in continuous operation since its grand reopening in 2007. Saints Robotics, in conjunction with the Interlake Associated Student Body, operates the store for the benefit of the student population during both lunch hours, selling items from school supplies to spirit gear as well as snacks and drinks.

In the summer of 2007, Saints Robotics initiated talks with the school administration to acquire approval to run the store. With the recent school renovation and remodel, a new facility had been designed exclusively for this store. However, due to financial mismanagement, the Interlake Student Store was closed indefinitely. Seeing a new opportunity to benefit our school, Saints Robotics convened interested members in an effort to finalize merchandise and operation protocol. With proposal in hand, Saints Robotics received permission. And after locating an adult supervisor and undergoing training on the register, the team proceeded to open the store in mid-September.

Now, the Interlake Student Store is run exclusively by volunteers from the team. It has successfully advertised itself to the student body, selling lunch items such as the perennially popular cup noodles, pocky and snacks such as popcorn. Volunteers run day-to-day operations, as well as take inventory, order goods, clean up, etc. Every day, these students from Saints Robotics spend their lunchtime working at the student store. Thanks to their time and effort, the Interlake Student Store is possible.
